What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regulatory and Safety Coordinator position at Valley View?
Valley View Hospital is looking for a Regulatory and Safety Coordinator for our Performance Improvement Department!
As the Regulatory and Safety Coordinator you will:
- Coordinates overall adherence with regulatory requirements of state, federal, and accrediting bodies that govern delivery of patient care
- Serves as a resource person to staff, leadership, and providers regarding regulatory issues and assists with developing associated process improvements.
- Ensures mandatory reporting to governing and accrediting agencies.
- Provides leadership to support the Patient Safety program including planning and executing Patient Safety department activities.
- Supports a Just Culture environment and non-punitive error reporting.
- Works with multiple stakeholders to foster an environment of shared accountability and promote collaborative practice among departments for improved clinical outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Colorado RN License or will consider non-RN with at least 5 years’ experience in healthcare.
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
Experience
- Strong experience with healthcare performance improvement.
- Familiar with CMS and State regulations as well as accreditation standards. Experience with survey preparation, process and follow-up activities.
Skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, team player, ability to influence change without direct authority, and negotiation skills.
- Thorough working knowledge of computer applications.
- Ability to interpret and apply medical terminology.
- Knowledge of Human factors and Performance Improvement basics.
- Strong analytical and project management skills in conjunction with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects are required.
The successful candidate is detail oriented, creative, and able to juggle multiple ongoing projects, track deadlines, work independently and collaboratively on teams that include hospital leadership and medical staff.
SALARY RANGE
- $30.22 to $44.44/hour
- Entry salary dependent upon education, skill set, and experience.
