What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Manager, Offshore OCTG position at Vallourec North America?
Fundamental Mission:
The Sales Manager Offshore OCTG is responsible to lead sales and business development for Vallourec in the Gulf of Mexico and to coordinate international sales originating with customers in the Houston area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Responsible for defining and improving Vallourec’s offering in the Gulf of Mexico including product portfolio, supply routes, consignment options, commercial terms, services offers, M&A, and partnerships for OCTG as well as non-OCTG products and services.
- Responsible for creating demand for Vallourec products and services by building customer, supplier, and partner relationships.
- Responsible to oversee quotations/tenders, process/follow-up orders, and provide after-sales support.
- Responsible to feedback market intelligence to Vallourec for purposes of forecasting and planning, R&D, innovation, market analysis, and competitive intelligence.
- Responsible to lead the offshore sales function for OCTG and for other product lines as they may be combined with OCTG in the future.
- Perform other responsibilities with respect to Vallourec’s offshore business as necessary including Trinidad and Tobago, East Coast Canada, and Mexico.
- Accountable for the profitability and value proposition of the Gulf of Mexico book of business.
- Accountable for working across business units, functions, and external partnerships to build consensus and facilitate change. Embody a spirit of empowerment and continuous improvement.
- Ensure Vallourec USA participation in professional exhibitions in country when needed (Oil & Gas Shows and Conferences)
- Follow up of Riser orders and co-ordinate with all involved parties; internal and external, acting as a project manager for this product line

Education/Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in technical and/or commercial field required
- 10 -15 years of equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
- Master's in Business Administration or equivalent is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in management/technical/commercial capacity and/or oil field service
- Commercial, corporate strategy and/or marketing experience in energy industry preferred
- Pipe, thread manufacturing, or quality experience preferred
- Must possess intermediate Microsoft Office application skills
- Experience in answering tenders, building offers and meeting customers deadlines
- Experience in negotiating clauses during contract negotiation
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills
- Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Travel Requirement:
- 20% travel domestically, 10% travel internationally
