We are a family-oriented company and provide opportunities to grow professionally and personally.JOB OVERVIEW : The Construction Technician is a valued member of our Construction and Trades (C&T) department, which is responsible for the skilled maintenance, building and construction work within our facilities. As a Construction Technician, you will help in construction and upgrades to our food processing facilities and offices. You will also grow your skills and knowledge by working closely with other Construction Technicians and the Construction Supervisor.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Unload and install equipment and construction materials according to plans and other drawings in accordance with food plant good manufacturing practices.Move, assemble, and install minor machinery and equipmentAssemble, install, and erect all forms of walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs.Modify existing buildings to improve capacity, safety or quality.Conduct duties in an environmentally responsible manner.Perform other duties as assigned.JOB EXPERIENCE : Minimum 5 years of related job experience.KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS : Can set and achieve challenging goalsDemonstrate persistence and overcomes obstaclesObserve safety and security proceduresReport potentially unsafe conditionsUse equipment and materials properlyAble to read and apply safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsCan write routine reports and correspondenceAble to communicate effectively with othersAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumeAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometryBasic computer skills, i.e. email, simple spreadsheetsFour to five years of industrial maintenance and multiple areas of construction experienceProficiency in using appropriate hand and power toolsAble to work in a team and occasionally independentlyOrganize & plan accordinglyEDUCATION : High school diploma or general education degree (GED)WORKING CONDITIONS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
