About The Role
The Sr Manager, Engineering will be responsible to manage and develop the team of engineers tasked to run validation and debug testing. This will include execution and enablement of products through the qualification life cycle, including power on, debug, triage of issues, and reporting on findings. The role will include customer relationship management, setting and meeting commitments, and direct 1st line engineering team management. Management of functional roles include validation engineering with expected mentoring and cross team development with partner groups. The role will interact heavily with internal technician teams to define and deliver results against priorities, process, and productivity measures. This role will report to the Director of VSEI Engineering.

About The Role

What You Will Do
- Hire, manage, and develop the site Validation Engineering team members
- Understand customer requirements, translate those requirements into test action plans, perform those plans, and subsequently drive closure with the customer on any follow ups
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including technicians, inventory control, and program management in the work assignment and customer deliverables
- Identify and routinely use the most effective and cost-efficient business practices to execute processes; continually evaluate their effectiveness and appropriateness
- Exercise independent judgment in planning and organizing work to build redundancy coverage and career paths for ongoing team success
- Troubleshoot complex problems and issues and propose/implement ongoing process changes to avoid repeat issues
- Provide executive-level interface to internal and external customers to avoid concern escalation
- Maintain a management operating system to review KPIs, units of productivity, and standardized operating procedures to positively impact goals
- Identify strategic skills required for VSEI’s future technology roadmap. Ensure that skills gaps are immediately addressed through appropriate recruitment, redeployment, or talent development actions
- Creativity with superior analytical abilities
- Experience in recruiting, team development, goal setting, and direct/indirect delegation
- Ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with team members, internal partners and external clients
- Knowledge and hands on experience with server hardware development and / or technical support experience
- Demonstrated success in program management and capacity planning
- Expert capability of breaking down complexity and implementing scalable, repeatable processes
- Sound financial and business acumen
- Strong written and verbal presentation and communication skills required
- Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree(s) in Engineering Preferred with 10 years of relative experience in server or a relative industry
