Job Description
We are seeking a skilled SD-WAN Engineer to analyze, design, and develop technical solutions for customer-reported issues, including complex network problems. This role requires expertise in SD-WAN solutions, network troubleshooting, and the ability to perform hands-on tests to validate network designs and deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Problem-Solving:
- Analyze, design, and develop solutions for customer and internal network issues.
- Support L3 teams and customers to resolve product and network problems.
- Lab Testing & Validation:
- Replicate customer issues in a lab environment.
- Perform hands-on tests to validate proof-of-concept setups, network designs, and deployments.
- Validate hotfixes and provide recommendations to the operations team.
- Coordination & Documentation:
- Collaborate with OEMs to replicate issues and test fixes.
- Develop best practices for network infrastructure and SD-WAN design.
- Create knowledge articles to enhance team efficiency.
- Infrastructure Setup & Automation:
- Set up and manage network infrastructure.
- Write and maintain bash/Python scripts to automate tasks.
Technical Skills
- Core Networking:
- Expertise in IP networking and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, L3VPN, DHCP, DNS, NAT, BFD, QoS, Application-Aware Routing).
- Proficiency in switching (VLAN, trunking, Dot1x, STP, VxLAN).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocol suite and network traffic analysis tools like Wireshark or tcpdump.
- SD-WAN Expertise:
- Hands-on experience with Versa SD-WAN or other SD-WAN solutions.
- Knowledge of VPN protocols (IPSec, SSL-VPN, NAT, GRE).
- Security & Cloud Integration:
- Understanding of security logs, vulnerabilities, CVEs, and threat maps.
- Experience with hybrid cloud network deployments (AWS, OpenStack, Google Cloud Platform).
- System Administration:
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments.
- Basic understanding of hardware and system-level troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
- Experience Requirements:
- Proven experience in managing, supporting, and deploying network infrastructures.
- Prior experience in debugging hardware and software issues in SD-WAN environments.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with virtualization, SaaS, IaaS, and related technologies.
- Certifications in networking or cloud technologies are a plus.
Key Skills: IP networking, routing protocols, SD-WAN solutions, Linux/Unix, VPN protocols, network troubleshooting, packet analysis, hybrid cloud deployments, automation scripting (bash/Python).
