Are you a Padmount Inspector with at least one-year Visual Pad inspection experience? The Padmount Inspector will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and ensuring the safety and reliability of padmount transformers and related equipment. The position will require regional travel with extended time away from home. Work is outdoors in inclement work conditions.
Starting pay:
- $25.00 per hour
- $100 per diem/per wk.
- Company truck
- Opportunity for production bonus
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of padmount transformers and associated equipment to identify and address any issues.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to padmount transformers and electrical distribution systems and correcting detrimental conditions.
- Level Padmount transformers to keep them from overheating, alleviate tension on conductors, and reduce the potential for failure.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, tightening connections, and applying protective coatings to prevent corrosion.
- Document and report any defects, damages, or irregularities found during inspections.
- Safely assess transformers and other similar equipment enclosures inside and outside.
- Conduct external and internal infrared inspections to detect elevated temperatures of critical components.
- Capture accurate inventory information including manufacture and GPS coordinates.
- Repair cabinet perforations.
- Remove brush, debris, and harmful pests that can lead to electrical failure.
- Apply pesticides inside to help prevent future pest activity.
- Prepare and submit reports on the condition of padmount transformers and any corrective actions taken.
- Ensure all inspections and maintenance activities comply with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Do You Have:
- At least (1) one years' experience with visual pad/padmount transformers and electrical distribution systems.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical inspection, maintenance, or a related field.
- Experience working outdoors.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior outdoor work or military experience is a plus.
- A valid drivers license and clean driving record is required to drive company vehicle.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to read and follow paper maps.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials up to 100lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and can meet other physical demands of the job.
- Ability to walk through rough terrain and work in extreme weather conditions (hot or cold) when required and necessary.
- Ability to work overtime when workload increases from time to time.
- Ability to travel regionally with extended time away from home.
