Job Summary
CMDB Implementation & Optimization
- We are seeking a highly skilled CMDB Consultant with expertise in Configuration.
- Management Database (CMDB) implementation, refresh strategies, and IT Service.
- Management (ITSM) best practices using ServiceNow. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining an optimized CMDB to support IT asset management, service mapping, and compliance with ITIL frameworks.
CMDB Implementation & Optimization
- Design, configure, and maintain a comprehensive CMDB aligned with ITIL standards and business requirements.
- Establish data governance policies and best practices for CMDB accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
- Define and implement data ingestion processes from various sources, including discovery tools, asset management systems, and third-party integrations.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and metrics to measure CMDB health and performance.
- Lead periodic CMDB refresh initiatives to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
- Define data cleansing strategies, reconciliation rules, and ongoing validation processes to maintain a high-quality CMDB.
- Collaborate with IT stakeholders, asset managers, and service owners to continuously improve CI (Configuration Item) relationships and dependencies.
- Identify gaps in data and work with relevant teams to improve data collection and automation.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with IT Operations, Security, Change Management, and Service Management teams to optimize CMDB usage.
- Conduct workshops and training for business users, IT teams, and leadership on CMDB best practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in CMDB strategies, advising senior management on enhancements and roadmap planning.
- 5 years of experience in CMDB implementation, refresh, and optimization.
- Expertise in ServiceNow platform.
- Strong understanding of ITIL framework, especially Configuration Management, Asset Management, and Change Management.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery.
- Proven experience in CMDB data modeling, CI relationships, and dependency mapping.
- Strong knowledge of data reconciliation techniques, normalization, and data quality management.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- ITIL v3/v4 Certification.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS-CMDB).
- Experience working in enterprise environments, public sector, or regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of CMDB.
