Job Title: FOH Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Scope of Supervision: The FOH Manager supervises the Servers, Hosts, Bussers and Delivery Persons (if applicable).
Scope of Work: Manage daily restaurant operations and assist with maintaining sanitation standards and assist servers and hosts on the floor during peak dining periods. Implements processes to improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize financial performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Open and close the restaurant minimum 3-4 times a week.
- Ensure the restaurant follows all health and safety regulations
- Schedule shifts and assign table sections to wait staff
- Ensure each employee’s daily job tasks are complete
- Manage staff performance in accordance with established standards and procedures
- Ensures all employees have proper supplies and uniforms
- Ensure all employees know and adhere to established codes of practice
- Maintain uniformity of all employee appearance and personal hygiene
- Hiring, training, counseling and training of FOH staff
- Ensure proper and accurate clock in and clock out times of FOH staff
- Track daily employee attendances; Report employee tardiness and absences to General Manager
- Assist in scheduling labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring all positions are staffed as needed, and labor cost objects are met
- Conduct daily staff meetings about menu updates, specials, reservation forecasts, etc.
- Conduct monthly meetings with staff
- Initiate corrective action(s) as necessary in a timely manner in accordance with Company policy; Report issues to Human Resources as appropriate
- Collaborate with Human Resources on new hires paperwork filing
- Touches all tables and guests to ensure 85-100% guest satisfaction and rectify any negative impressions immediately
- Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with Company policies
- Record all income and expenses
- Ensure cash registers are balanced at the end of every shift
- Perform reconciliation of end-of-shift financials
- Assist in menu planning and updating as needed
- Collaborate with food and beverage staff to ensure proper food presentation and proper food-handling procedures are followed
- Conduct daily inventory checks for ingredients, utensils and equipment as stock is depleted or damaged
- Fulfill host or servers duties in the absence of a host or server
- Pack pick-up orders accurately and efficiently
- Perform other duties as assigned and follow up periodically with the GM
Perform other duties as assigned by the GM , including but not limited to administrative errands.
