Looking to fill an immediate opening for a 1st shift and 2nd shift (5:00 PM - 4:30 AM) Bench Hand whom will fit and assembles components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine/tool construction to construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment using hand tools and power tools.

DUTIES

· Assemble machinery and tools according to customer requirements and specifications (within 0.000-0.003")

· Verify tolerances, dimensions, and clearances

· Finish surfaces, including polishing die details from rough benching through finish benching to meet customers' surface finishing requirements and specifications

· Inspect contours and smoothness

· Complete profile checks on incoming parts

· Train other bench hands

· Work with supervisor and team members to improve the overall benching process through better stones and materials as well as standardizing benching techniques and processes

· Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations inside and outside plants

· Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

· Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs

· Documents actions by completing production timesheets

· Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

· Additional job duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Trunk strength: the ability to use the abdominal and lumbar muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without fatigue

· Arm and hand stability: the ability to keep the hand and arm steady while moving the arm or while holding the arm and hand in one position

· Static force: the ability to exert maximum muscular force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects

· Reaction time: the ability to respond quickly (with hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, image) when it appears

· Stamina: The ability to physically exert yourself for long periods of time without getting out of breath

· Depth perception: the ability to judge which of several objects is closer or farther from you, or to judge the distance between you and an object

QUALIFICATIONS

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Experience in the use of tool-making machinery (Bridgeport, surface grinder, saw, etc.)

· Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in the use of hand tools such as ultrasonic polishers, grinders, and benching stones

· Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mold Polisher or similar

· Minimum of 2 years of experience training or assisting others on/with benching techniques and processes

· Ability to independently and properly use sanding blocks, lifting tools, D.A. grinders, etc.

· Ability to pass a drug test in compliance with the law

· Ability to pass a background check in compliance with the law

· To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicants should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
