What you'll do:
- Setup and operate NC and CNC machines and any conventional machines in the Casting Cells to perform a variety of turning, drilling, tapping, boring, reaming, threading, forming, facing, milling, slotting, grooving, chamfering, serrating and deburring operations to produce a variety of explosion-proof parts of various materials
- Operate machines include, but are not limited to, single spindle and multi-spindle drill presses and tappers; milling machines; parts washers; and deburring grinder
- Refer to assembly drawings, wiring diagrams and machining blueprints to maintain tolerances.
- Set controls and perform other manual data input functions as required, review operation data sheets, parts program, tape readouts and prints, and change collets and/or chucks; load and unload parts; load, unload and adjust tools as necessary
- Check first piece using fixed or adjustable gauges; gauge periodically and visually inspect all parts for appearance and compliance to specifications; correct for any discrepancies.
- Maintain a supply of materials to machines and remove finished work as necessary to establish a flow through the cells
- Operate fork truck to facilitate own work or to move material around department as required
- Maintain work area, machines and control units in a clean, neat and orderly condition and follow 5-S's principles
- Minimum two (2) years' previous work experience in CNC machine setup and operation
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Syracuse, NY will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- 3 years of work experience with NC & CNC machine setup and operation
- Fork Truck experience
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, charts, and tables
