Client Overview
Vernovis is partnering with a leading organization to hire an Project Controller who will play a key role in managing financial forecasting, budgeting, and vendor management for IT projects.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and maintain IT project forecasts, including initial estimates and monthly updates.
- Manage financial processes, including accruals, reclass entries, and budget tracking to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Oversee vendor management, including Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Purchase Orders (POs), and Invoice monitoring/approval/tracking.
- Analyze and communicate financial trends, risks, and issues, escalating concerns as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to monthly financial calendar deadlines and corporate financial policies.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to address financial discrepancies and operational inefficiencies.
- Apply a continuous improvement mindset, identifying areas for process optimization and efficiency gains.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring financial insights are clear and actionable.
What Experience You'll Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related business discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar role with a strong focus on financial analysis, budgeting, and vendor management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel and financial reporting tools.
What Experience is Nice to Have:
- Experience in the utility industry.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Program Management Module.
- Experience using Ariba for purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and invoice management.
