Position Overview
The Corporate Paralegal serves the Law Department in a variety of legal, executive, and departmental duties to facilitate day-to-day activities. A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, problem-solving, timeliness, excellent communication skills, planning, minimal supervision, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are required to be successful in this position.
Essential Responsibilities
· Legal, Compliance, and Insurance Matter Support:
- Support Company corporate governance and compliance functions for US entities, including maintenance of corporate legal books and records, filing legal documents with relevant State agencies, and managing annual content modules in the Company’s Learning Management System;
- Support Company litigation functions, including case management, discovery, and other litigation-related activities;
- Support Company risk management and other insurance-related functions, including assisting with insurance renewals and managing Company surety bonds; and
- Serve as primary administrator for the Law Department’s e-billing/matter management system (Legal Tracker).
· Department Support:
- Manage administrative Law Department operations, including monitoring physical and electronic mail, organizing and maintaining legal files, onboarding and training new team members, and scheduling and coordinating trainings and meetings; and
- Handle administrative tasks for select members of Law Department, including processing travel requests and receipts, maintaining calendars and schedules, and performing other duties as may be required from time to time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience
- Paralegal certification and/or professional experience working as a paralegal for at least three (3) years
- Minimum three (3) years’ relevant experience in a corporate legal department or law firm
- Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn systems for matter and billing management (preferably Legal Tracker), contract management (preferably Cobblestone), email and calendaring (preferably Outlook), and expense reimbursement (preferably Concur)
- Preferred: Three (3) years’ experience in a role with legal, administrative, and executive responsibilities, including administering and monitoring contracts and working with the design and implementation of filing systems or records management
- Preferred: Three (3) years’ experience in insurance risk management or similar supporting role
