JOB TITLE: IT ANALYST II (Operational Technology)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position exercises a high degree of independent judgement and discretion in its responsibility for configuring, managing, monitoring and maintenance of IT and OT systems including our GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) commercial and residential systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs such duties as, but not limited to the following:
- Supports the design, development and testing of applications, changes, and upgrades associated with the specified applications and related integration tools.
- Provides administration, technical support, maintenance, development and troubleshooting for AMI/MDM/MV90/GIS systems.
- Knowledge of CIS (Customer Information Systems) and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for integration to AMI/MDM/MV90.
- Provides support to internal customers by providing reports, queries, data analyses, analysis and problem resolution.
- Responsible for analyzing system log files, notification messages, identification of field hardware and communication failures. Ensure problems are resolved in a timely fashion.
- Shares in supporting the 24X7 operations monitoring of “critical” AMI / GIS system alarms.
- Develops and maintains necessary working relationships with external service providers, vendors and other support personnel to resolve issues and ensure efficient operations.
- Provides technical information for Disaster Recovery planning and participates in annual Technical Asset Review updates to help ensure asset life cycle management.
- Complies with internal audit requirements, test policies and change control processes.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs other related duties as assigned, including designated duties associated with System Restoration, (SEOP) System Emergency Operations Plan.
- On-Call rotation support.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Operational Technology.
REQUIRED OR PREFERRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Associate's degree, or equivalent training / experience is required.
- Previous experience providing support and troubleshooting of IT applications is required.
- Experience with utility metering software is desired.
- GIS (ESRI / GE Smallworld) experience is preferred.
- Outage management system experience would be an asset.
- Working experience with AMI/IEE/MDM/MV90 is desired.
- Strong analytical skills, working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, queries, reporting/presentation software, and telecommunications required.
- High degree of customer sensitivity required.
- Position requires a clear understanding of utility issues, operations and priorities; an understanding of electrical system is preferred.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple assignments concurrently required.
- Strong customer service ethic and the ability to work independently or in teams, with minimal supervision required.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with utility application systems, billing systems and/or electrical infrastructure and design would be an asset.
- Must be willing to travel for training and User Group participation.
- Position requires identity verification and seven-year criminal background check with update at least every seven years pursuant to NERC standards.
- Position requires a valid driver’s license.

- Extra hours may be required.
- Occasional travel is required.
- WORKING SCHEDULE: Usual work hours are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. Working between 40-50 hours may occur to meet deadlines. Off-hour monitoring of emergencies is anticipated. On-call rotation is required.
PAY:
Pay will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Further pay information will be available during the interview process.
