POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the DER Program Manager, the DG Project Management Supervisor will be responsible for the leadership and oversight of DG Project Management with questions and removing any roadblocks in their way so they can help the installers, project developers, and customers in navigating the generator interconnection process. May also include program record-keeping, contract administration, cost management, maintaining various files, preparing documentation, studies, and data requests related to all.
This position will also oversee the design and project management processes for distributed generation interconnection projects, ensures regulated timelines are being met by Versant Power and its contractors, and ensures that all timelines and company requirements are being met and tracked for these projects. This will include tracking of all costs and milestones associated with the DG projects from Design Phase to Interconnection.
This position requires knowledge of Versant Power’s internal processes and standard contracts in compliance with the Maine Public Utilities Commission’s Small Generator Interconnection Standards Chapter 324. Awareness and a basic understanding of the Customer Net Energy Billing Chapter 313 and the Distributed Generation Procurement Chapter 313 is also required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise DG Project Management through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance management. Ensure training and development of staff to achieve high results.
- Assists DG Planners, Program Manager, Coordinators and Regulatory through the interconnection process.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of PM's, ensuring best possible utilization of resources to meet business needs.
- Creates/maintains tracking for all documents, agreements, etc.
- Acquires and maintains knowledge of all Versant Power’s customer support, metering, billing and communications systems.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for training, auditing, compliance and regulatory matters related to small generator interconnections and net energy billing.
- Be a point of escalation for Project Managers for complex issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including designated duties associated with System Restoration.
- Creates/Maintains files, process documentation and trains backup resources.
- Attends outside training as required or directed to compliment work responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Position requires 5 years of Utility experience. Technical experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electric power or equivalent preferred
- Ability to manage tasks and deadlines for multiple long-term concurrent projects is required.
- Independent problem-solving abilities and strict attention to detail required.
- Project management experience required.
- Previous Management experience preferred.
- Strong business acumen, and analytical, organizational and team-building skills required.
- Position requires excellent computer skills. Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), scheduling software required.
- Demonstrated ability to handle competing priorities, schedules, and meet deadlines.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Position is substantially sedentary but requires some walking and standing.
- Position requires the ability to travel for meetings at various locations throughout the service territory and travel necessary to accomplish training and ongoing development.
- Position requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Position requires excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Position requires visual concentration related to computer use.
- Position may be somewhat stressful due to project deadline requirements.
PAY:
- Pay will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
