What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll specialist position at Veterans United Home Loans?
As a Payroll and Commission Specialist, you are responsible for the overall coordination, support, and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll and calculating commissions for exempt and non-exempt employees of Veterans United including Loan Officers in our company.
Job duties will vary upon assignment but may include :
Calculate, process, and manage bonuses, pay, employee deductions, and Loan Officer commissions.
Maintain a debt log with appropriate charges and credits.
Perform pre- and post-payroll audit functions.
Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date in payroll and timekeeping software as well as labor laws and regulations.
Serve as a point of reference for Loan Officers regarding commission calculations.
Month-end close responsibilities, including assisting with bank and general ledger reconciliation and commission accrual.
Assist with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) tracking related to Employee and Loan Officer compensation.
Compile commission information as required for state exams.
Actively contribute to making the team and culture stronger by assisting with other duties as needed, excluding licensed activity.
