Robot Welder Operator (1st Shift)

Description

The Robot operator is primarily responsible for setting up and operating the Robot in accordance to

established procedures and guidelines. This includes interpreting blueprints, drawings, and

diagrams to adjust Robot settings according to specifications, to ensure that the tasks are completed

accurately.


Essential Job Responsibilities not limited to:


Review work order

  • Pulls shop drawing from the VMC drawing folder
  • Reads shop drawing for dimensions
  • Check for material availability

Sets up and operates Robotic Welding Robot

  • Sets up station where product is to be run
  • Sets up fixture in robot
  • Dry run the first piece to ensure accuracy
  • Set up and operate robot
  • Complete job and signs off on operations

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
  • Basic math knowledge which includes the use of measuring tools
  • Familiar with operating the robotic welding machine
  • Welding knowledge helpful

Competencies

  • Ability to work in an environment that produces excellent quality and quantity work
  • Ability to organize and prioritize jobs
  • Ability to communicate – verbally and written

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to lift, push, and pull 25 pounds unassisted

Work Environment

  • Typical machine shop environment.
  • Willing and able to work additional hours as needed to ensure responsibilities are met.
  • Willing to be cross-trained on different machines

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Shop experience in robotic and plasma cutting
  • Familiarity with a robot control panel, and operating forklift and overhead crane
  • Able to work various shifts as needed
