Position Summary :
Engineer supporting system design teams with new and existing compressor applications, including compressor specification, application, qualification, and quality
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Syracuse compression engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the design, selection, and application of compressors in residential, commercial, and transportation refrigeration systems. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the selection of optimal compressors for various applications, optimizing system performance, and providing technical guidance to customers and internal teams. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure high-quality product development and application.
Key Responsibilities :
- Compressor Selection & Sizing :
Evaluate and select the appropriate compressor models for customer projects, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and system reliability.
Provide technical support to internal teams (sales, marketing, and manufacturing) and customers, addressing queries related to compressor applications, performance, and installation.
Work closely with system designers and engineers to ensure compressors are integrated effectively into heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Coordinate and participate in testing compressors to assess performance, reliability, and energy efficiency under various conditions.
Analyze system and compressor performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide solutions to aid in development of efficient and reliable systems.
Engage with internal Carrier customers to understand their needs, provide technical recommendations, and offer advice on compressor configurations and energy-saving solutions.
Prepare technical documentation, such as compressor specifications, application guides, and performance reports. Ensure accurate records are maintained for engineering projects.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to compressor applications, and recommend product improvements and optimizations.
Collaborate with product development teams to design new compressor models and features based on customer feedback and market demands.
