CAD Draftsman

JOB OVERVIEW

Viewpoint Systems, LLC (www.viewpointproducts.com) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated CAD Draftsman to join our growing design team in Pensacola, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and revising technical drawings for various projects, generating and maintaining Bill of Materials (BOMs), conducting incoming inspections on machined parts, and working closely our engineers to support our design efforts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drawing Production: Create detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
• Revisions and Updates: Modify existing drawings based on feedback from senior staff and evolving project requirements.
• Bill of Materials Management: Assist in generating and maintaining Bill of Materials (BOM) for projects, ensuring all materials and parts are accurately documented. Collaborate with project managers to update BOMs regularly, which is essential for precise budgeting, cost estimation, and efficient procurement.
• Fit Checks and Dimensional Measurements: Conduct fit checks and perform dimensional measurements on incoming machined parts to verify that all components meet design specifications and quality standards. Work collaboratively with the quality assurance team to document any discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers to understand project needs and develop effective design solutions.
• Documentation: Assist in the preparation of design documentation including design specifications, blueprints, and revision logs.
• Compliance: Ensure all drawings meet industry standards, codes, and company quality guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS

• Educational Background:
• Associate’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient with CAD software. Comprehensive understanding of 3D mechanical design drafting principles.
• Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and detail in creating and reviewing technical drawings, BOMs, and dimensional measurements.
• Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and take direction from senior team members.
• Experience: Experience in drafting.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Compensation: $19/hr - $22/hr depending on experience
