JOB INFORMATION

The Summer Camp Teacher will supervise the program staff participants and implement on-site activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have degree in Education or equivalent
- Teaching experience required
- Experience working with children of all different calibers
- Previous day camp leadership experience preferred; but not required
- Knowledge in a variety sports; group games; and arts & craft activities preferred; but not required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid State of Illinois driver’s license
- Willing to drive a 14-passenger vehicle
- Ability to plan and lead recreational activities for children at assigned age level
- Organized; dependable; and reliable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be available to work June to August from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THE JOB
- Plan; organize; and implement programs and activities
- Maintain good public relations with participants; parents; other staff members; and the general public
- Ensure safety of participants
- Follow Village of Rantoul policies and procedures
- Train; supervise; discipline; and assist in evaluating Youth Center Aides
- Attend meetings
- Provide a positive environment for participants
- Confidentiality
- Willing to work inside and outside
- Address complaints and resolve concerns as needed
- Act as a positive role model to staff in interaction with children and parents
- Communicate expectations to staff and reinforce expectations
- Communicate any needs or suggestions to Assistant Director of Recreation
