Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Seasonal Cellar Hand to join our team during the busy harvest season, in the production of high-quality wine. The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English/Spanish required), have 6 months to a year of experience in cellar work or winemaking, and be capable of handling physically demanding tasks. This is a seasonal position lasting 2-3 months, and reliable transportation is required. This role involves working in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount.
Seasonal/ 40hrs a week/ Salary Range $22-$24
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in various winemaking processes, including grape sorting, crushing, pressing, and fermentation monitoring
- Operate and clean winery equipment (e.g., pumps, presses, filters, tanks)
- Carry out barrel work, such as filling, racking, topping, and cleaning
- Perform routine cellar maintenance and cleaning to ensure safety and sanitation
- Assist in monitoring the quality of wines throughout the production process
- Safely move and lift heavy items regularly
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
- Work closely with the winemaking team to ensure smooth operation during the harvest season
- Maintain accurate records and reports as needed
Requirements:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in a winery or similar production environment
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects consistently
- Comfortable working long hours, including weekends, during the harvest season
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for high-end wine production
- Reliable transportation to and from the winery
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities
