THE OPPORTUNITY
Vir Biotechnology is looking for a part-time contract Specialist II, Accounts Payable to support the daily operations of the accounting functions with a focus on accounts payable responsibilities.
This person will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and work onsite in our Mission Bay San Francisco headquarters.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Process vendor invoices. Ensure accurate coding to general ledger accounts, programs, and cost centers
- Review and approve expense reports in Concur
- Reconcile vendor statements
- Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments of outstanding invoices
- Resolve discrepancies with vendors
- Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders
- Assist with month-end closing activities
- Ad hoc requests and projects as requested
WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRING
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related professional field preferred
- 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in life science
- Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting processes
- Experience with Concur, Coupa, and NetSuite preferred
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks & work independently
Please note that this is a part-time position. The role requires commitment of 20 hours per week. The schedule can be flexible to accommodate the needs of the candidate and the company.

WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE OFFER
The expected hourly rate range for this position is $42 to $58. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
