The HR Generalist is responsible for effectively supporting various human resources functions and training initiatives within the organization. Key responsibilities include handling employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with labor laws and healthcare regulations, and assisting with the performance management process. This role is responsible for providing exceptional service through partnerships with leaders and staff. The HR Generalist also handles performance management and conflict resolution. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to support a collaborative, patient-focused environment within the Virginia Heart Cardiovascular practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist with the schedule and assignments of the director, as well as coordinate workflows of team members within the department, particularly regarding meetings, projects, and other strategic operations within the HR Department.Partners with team members and leaders to facilitate effective performance management processes and the execution of performance reviews, development plans and performance improvement plans.Coordinate employee engagement activities including employee events, surveys, action plans, and communication.Serve as a trusted advisor and counsel for HR programs and activities such as team member relations, compensation, performance management, policies and procedures.Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale.Maintains employee personnel files ensuring completeness and accuracy.Ability to manage and resolve team member relations issues, change management efforts and increase operational excellence.Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, of current HR systems and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.Coordinate monthly HR content for company newsletter.Performs other HR duties / projects as assigned.REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field; broad application of human resources principlesPHR or SHRM-CP certification preferredMinimum 3 years hands on human resources experience, preferably in a healthcare settingStrong organizational / time management skills, attention to detail and focus on accuracyStrong computer literacy including command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelExperience using both HRIS and ATS systems. (ADP Comprehensive preferred)Excellent written communication skills including proper grammar and professional writingExcellent verbal communication skills; the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from a wide variety of experiences, backgrounds, and skill levelsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple projects while providing excellent customer serviceStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
