Purpose:
Define, manage, and enhance the dealership image and brand in the market. Lead efforts to better understand, attract, and retain customers. Develop and manage marketing tactics to promote the dealership’s products and services through targeted efforts. Attract and retain talent and effectively engage marketing department personnel.
Responsibilities:
o Leads the development and implementation of a marketing plan
o Leads the development and implementation of a merchandising and display strategy
o Leads the development of a brand strategy including the development, implementation and enhancement of the dealer brand
o Implements the dealership’s marketing strategies by leveraging resources aligned with the dealership’s values, mission, and goals
o Leads the development, communication, and assessment of marketing tactics (e.g. advertising, promotions, incentives, events, etc.) that reach targeted prospects
o Monitors market trends and may also utilize customer insight technologies such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications to gain deeper customer understanding
o Defines customer segments and determines how to pursue segments through targeted solutions and services required
o Defines and manages the customer experience process (e.g. customer focus groups, customer satisfaction surveys, etc.)
o Defines and manage advertise budget; develop monthly, quarterly, and annual advertising activities (e.g. internet, social media, etc.)
o Acts as a liaison between the dealership and manufacturers’ marketing personnel and leverages manufacturing marketing resources
o Ensures appropriate marketing and public relations communications for all departments
o Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
o 5 years sales and/or marketing experience
o Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
o Proven ability to lead and inspire others
o Proven ability to communicate effectively one-on-one and within a group
o Proven ability to analyze and interpret internal and external marketing reports
o Familiar with statistical analytic applications and market research practices preferred
o Proven ability to be creative and innovative preferred
o Bachelors Degree in business or marketing or equivalent experience
*Traveling daily to 11 locations in the state of VA & MD; this includes weekend events.
