Role : Human Resource Manager
Location : New York, NY
Duration : Permanent
Must-Haves / Ideal Background :
Minimum of 1 year as an HR Manager with the ability to work independently; previous experience as a coordinator or recruiter is a plus.
A true HR generalist with broad expertise across all HR functions (not limited to one area).
Preferred (Not Required) :
Experience in a law firm setting.
Familiarity with Paycom software.
Responsibilities :
Manage new hires, approve timecards, and handle PTO in Paycom.
Knowledge of NYC and NY State labor laws (California experience is a plus).
The firm is smaller, with 100 full-time and approximately 20 part-time employees, including both exempt and non-exempt staff.
The Managing Partner will assist with compliance tasks.
A strong understanding of billable hours is essential; Partners receive K-1 forms and draws instead of payroll, requiring different processing schedules.
Assistance with W-2s; 1099s are automated. The 1095 / W-2 filings for the current year are already completed.
The individual will need to quickly get up to speed for open enrollment in October.
While payroll processing is handled by accounting, this person can support as a backup but this role does not require direct involvement with payroll.
