Visit Vancouver WA is seeking a detail-oriented and technically savvy professional with a passion for social media and making connections in the community. The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging with local business owners, is knowledgeable of the ever-changing social media landscape, and has a can-do attitude in a fast-paced office environment.
This position reports directly to the Communications Manager, as part of a tight-knit four-person Marketing & Communications Team, overseen by the Director of Marketing.
As a part-time position (25 hours per week), the Social Media & Communications Coordinator will accrue Paid Time Off (PTO) and is eligible for paid holidays. Part-time positions are eligible for work-related reimbursements like mileage and parking, but are not eligible for other related benefits offered to full-time employees. This position is non-exempt.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
General duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Daily and weekly social media postings on a variety of channels, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and Bluesky
• Assist with social media content creation, follower engagement, and comment management
• New business outreach, internal management of CRM updates, and providing destination services
• Assist with marketing projects, including distribution of pass prizes, Travel Magazines, and Annual Reports
• Assist with website content, including uploading events, blog post writing, and auditing webpages
• Perform other such duties as may be assigned by the Communications Manager and/or Director of Marketing
Requirements / Minimum Qualifications:
• Knowledge of English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation
• Knowledge of social media required; proof of strong platform performance preferred
• Knowledge of current computer equipment and software (including Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Canva, and CapCut)
• Familiarity with the Vancouver WA community and its appeal to visitors
• Basic photography and video skills required; intermediate skills preferred
• Ability to prioritize and organize work and effectively resolve workload issues
• Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
• Flexibility to occasionally work hours outside the regular workday as needed
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred OR applicable workplace experience equivalent to a four-year degree
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to perform those activities to complete the essential functions of the job, either with or without reasonable accommodation. Required physical activities can include frequent keyboard fingering, talking, repetitive motions of hands and wrists, sitting, hearing and lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 35 pounds.
