What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Vital Plastics, Inc.?
Position Purpose: The Maintenance Technician is in charge of performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on equipment. Their duties include fixing machinery, plumbing, heating, wiring, inspecting buildings to confirm safety standards and scheduling major repairs with the building’s inhabitants.
Responsibilities:
Ensure all machinery is operating as it is designed
Controls downtime by effectively troubleshooting and diagnosing problems quickly and accurately
Ability to troubleshoot various robots and automation systems
Ability to repair chillers, thermolators, resin driers, loader systems, grinders and tower fans
Assist Maintenance Manager with machine installations; which includes electrical and plumbing skills
Assist in preventative maintenance of company vehicles
Maintain all facility grounds and buildings
Work with subcontractors on facility maintenance
Ensures that all maintenance operations are done in accordance with company policy and OSHA guidelines
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops & reviewing technical publications
Qualifications/Experience:
Required
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to test, troubleshoot and repair equipment using knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics and control logic
Print reading, Pneumatic/Hydraulic/Electrical/Electronics
Ability to use test equipment (multi-meters, calipers, micrometers, etc.)
Ability to operate a forklift and move heavy equipment
Ability to safely lift up to 40 lbs. frequently, 75 lbs. Occasionally
Travel between company owned/leased buildings throughout the work day. Must possess a valid state driver’s license and the ability to be insured for driving company vehicles at a minimal expense to the company
