Job Summary: The Medical Front Office Receptionist is responsible for providing excellent customer service while managing the administrative and clerical functions of the healthcare office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Scheduling and Registration:
- Answer phone calls and assist patients in scheduling appointments.
- Register patients by verifying demographic information and updating their medical records.
- Handle cancellations, rescheduling, and appointment reminders.
- Ensure accurate entry of patient information into the electronic health records (EHR) system.
- Insurance Verification and Billing:
- Verify patient insurance information and ensure eligibility before appointments.
- Process billing information and co-pays at the time of patient check-in.
- Submit insurance claims and follow up on unpaid claims.
- Assist patients with insurance inquiries and coverage details.
- Patient Check-In and Check-Out:
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist them in completing necessary paperwork.
- Collect patient payments, co-pays, or outstanding balances during check-out.
- Ensure patients are properly checked in for their appointments and direct them to the correct waiting area.
