Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and deductions.
- Calculate overtime, bonuses, and other payroll-related adjustments.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll taxes and filings in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Process benefits deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related deductions.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, including tax filings, garnishments, union and benefit contributions.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, such as wage discrepancies, tax withholdings, and benefits.
- Assist with year-end reporting, including W-2 processing and 1099 forms.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with other organizational systems.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and other applicable laws related to payroll.
- Assist in implementing and improving payroll processes and systems for greater efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a payroll analyst, payroll specialist, or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax laws, and relevant regulations.
- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll software.
- Knowledge of state and local payroll regulations.
- Certification in Payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional – CPP or Fundamentals of Payroll Concepts - FPC).
