Summary:
As an Project Manager for our client, you will act in an engineering and construction management capacity under the supervision of the Project Manager for all activities of assigned projects. You will be involved in managing high-profile, ground-up commercial projects, including those with complex drywall systems, such as metal stud framing, interior drywall, and large-scale structural projects. Your work will ensure the successful execution of projects from start to finish.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Project Documentation: Expand knowledge of assigned project folders, field packages, cost control, estimating, and cost management systems. Review and interpret project documents, including contracts, plans, specifications, and change orders to provide accurate and timely cost estimates.
- Estimating & Change Orders: Perform quantity take-offs via on-screen takeoff and prepare cost estimates. Help prepare and submit change orders for approval, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Material Management: Coordinate material orders, track delivery, and ensure timely supply and stocking in collaboration with field personnel and vendors.
- Field Knowledge: Visit active project sites periodically to broaden technical knowledge of drywall, masonry, and concrete restoration products and field systems. Assist with field reports, projections, and monthly reporting.
- Project Monitoring: Communicate regularly with field personnel to monitor and track project schedules, production, and any job-related issues. Help ensure quality control and production meet timelines and specifications.
- Financial Administration: Oversee accounting tasks such as invoice approvals, requisitions, and payroll. Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to budgets and schedules.
- Client Interaction: Represent the company at external meetings related to the project and actively engage with clients. Contribute to marketing efforts to promote services and build client relationships.
- Training & Development: Assist in the training and development of project engineers and other team members. Gain experience and management skills to take on greater responsibilities.
- Complex Project Focus: Work on large-scale, complex projects, including metal stud framing, interior drywall, and building envelope restoration. Collaborate on engineering design and constructability issues to ensure proper execution of these high-profile projects.
Qualifications:
- Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of commercial drywall construction experience, with a focus on complex, ground-up projects in the $4M-$20M range.
- Skills: Strong analytical thinking, effective communication (both oral and written), and sound judgment.
- Requirements: Must have your own vehicle with a valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Certification: Successful completion of the company's training program.
- Additional Requirements: This position requires a criminal background check and the signing of a Confidentiality, Non-Disclosure, and Non-Solicitation Agreement (NOT a non-compete agreement).
Specialization:
- Focus on metal stud framing, interior drywall, and complex structural systems for commercial construction projects, excluding residential work.
- Experience with detailed engineering and design, especially in metal stud and drywall systems, is highly preferred.
