Outside Plant Permit Coordinator
Job Summary
The OSP Permit Coordinator is responsible for obtaining all required permits and approvals for outside plant construction and maintenance activities. This includes coordinating with various governmental agencies, utility companies, and private landowners. The coordinator will manage the entire permit lifecycle, from application submission to final approval, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the Permit Tracker
- Delivering / uploading Permits for review to Municipalities / DOT / Power Companies
- Build a relationship with the Municipalities / DOT / Power Companies to ensure we remain in good standing.
- Working with Engineering partners to ensure the Permits are up to approval standards.
- Manage the entire permit process for OSP projects, including new builds, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Research and interpret local, state, and federal regulations related to utility construction, right-of-way usage, environmental protection, and other relevant areas.
- Prepare and submit permit applications to various agencies, including municipalities, counties, state DOTs, railroads, and utility companies.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, construction, field operations) to gather necessary project information and documentation for permit applications.
- Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including government agencies, utility companies, and private landowners, to address inquiries and resolve permitting issues.
- Track permit status, monitor deadlines, and proactively address potential delays.
- Maintain accurate records of all permits, applications, and related documentation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with permitting agencies and other stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in regulations and permitting requirements.
- Negotiate permit conditions and agreements as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of permitting procedures and best practices.
- Potentially manage or assist with pole attachment agreements.
