SUMMARY:
The Senior Human Resources Manager is a hybrid position that will oversee the daily workflow of the human resources department in support of our growing organization. This position will ensure adherence to company policies and practices. This includes the areas of recruitment, onboarding, compensation, performance management and employee relations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provides support and guidance to HR staff, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Analyzes trends in recruitment, onboarding, compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Maintain compliance with Volunteers of America Michigan policies and procedures
- Ensure all duties are carried out in a timely and orderly fashion so that Volunteers of America Michigan functions in the most efficient manner possible
- Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university; 3 to 5 years of progressively more responsible experience in Human Resources management, preferably in healthcare, non-profit and/or human services environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Extensive experience with HRIS, especially UKG, preferred.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Federal and state employment laws
- Knowledge of human resources best practices
- Knowledge of employee benefits and insurance
- Knowledge of UKG or other HRIS

- Must maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license and driving record that meets insurability requirements
