JOB SUMMARY:
The Partnerships in Child Care division of Volunteers of America South Central Louisiana provides information, support, and assistance to child care teachers, directors, and family child care providers to improve the quality of their early childhood instruction and thus facilitate positive learning outcomes for children. Partnerships in Child Care (PICC) also provides families with resources about child development and child care referrals.
The Coaching Program Manager is responsible for the supervision, coordination of activities, and management of efficient delivery of services of the coaching component of the Partnerships in Child Care Program, in the catchment area of Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana parishes. The Coaching Program Manager is under the direct supervision of the PICC Program Director.
JOB DUTIES:
- Provide guidance to and supervision of coaching staff for efficient operation of the program and to enhance the coaching services offered in these key areas:
- (most particularly) improved teacher-child interactions (CLASS), especially in the area of improved Engaged Support for Learning/Instructional Support and
- (most particularly) effective implementation of high-quality curricula
- Early Learning and Development Standards
- Teaching Strategies GOLD and other techniques for student learning documentation and assessments
- Develop and implement at least quarterly professional development for Coaches
- Ensure implementation of an overall strategic plan for the coaching services
- Evaluate Coaches quarterly to include video observations
- Help oversee provision of respite child care services by Coaches and other team members
- Compile required reports, with all components, for LA Department of Education and other funders
- Build upon the established relationships between the CCR&R program and the early childhood community, especially the members and partners of the local Community Networks
- Participate in ongoing assessment of state data and use that data to inform coaching delivery
- Participate in ongoing professional development and learning
- Participate in Volunteers of America South Central LA management team responsibilities
- Support the implementation of goals and objectives established by the division, including special projects
This position is located in our Baton Rouge, LA office. The applicant must possess a working knowledge of basic computer skills, knowledge of day-to-day office operations, and working knowledge of basic word processing and spreadsheets. Most ideal candidate will have prior management/supervisory experience.
