Position Summary:
Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all guests. Each server’s primary objective is to show our guests such an enjoyable time they will want to return again and again. Customer Mania!
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Welcome and greet guests in a timely fashion. Make all guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them. Customer Mania!
· Inform guests of specials, new beers, your favorite items and menu changes.
· Make recommendations you genuinely believe your guests will enjoy. Know the menu and our award winning beers.
· Answer questions about food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services.
· Have or develop a knowledge of craft beers/micro brews, wine, liquor, and be able to recommend and explain them to our guests.
· Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in the Aloha point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar.
· Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter.
· Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment and checklists that are provided.
· Maintain clean service areas, pre-bus, clear and reset tables as needed.
· Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with their food, beverages and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
· Prepare the final guest check, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change if needed.
· Accurately control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures.
· Possess adequate responsible alcohol service knowledge; read and understand the company provided alcohol service guidelines. Attend and pass testing for mandatory local Alcohol Service Permit certification within 30 days of employment and maintain the certification.
· Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise with food running, side-work, and overall teamwork. Full hands in, full hands out.
· Be ready and willing to assist bus person and hosts/hostesses with seating, pre-bussing, clearing and resetting tables.
· Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
· Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
· Maintain a clean uniform and apron. Fat Head’s shirts and aprons will be provided by the company.
Qualifications:
· Be able to communicate with and understand our guests.
· Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
· Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
· Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
· Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20-25 pounds.
