Description : Position Summary
VS Engineering is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Survey Technician to join our Indianapolis Survey team. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced surveyors and engineers to assist in the collection, analysis, and documentation of survey data for various local, state, and federal projects. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in the field of surveying and gain hands-on experience in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Our Indianapolis Office is the headquarters for VS Engineering and boasts our largest Transportation, Water Resources, and Structural teams. Our local staff includes a wide variety of experience levels with expertise in city, county, DOT and work projects for local cities, counties, and the State. Our Noblesville office also offers an alternative location for employees northeast of Indianapolis.
A Typical Day May Include
- Assist in conducting field surveys using various surveying instruments, including GPS, total stations, levels, LiDAR scanners, and drones.
- Collect and record accurate survey data in the field.
- Perform data entry and analysis using surveying software and tools.
- Assist in the preparation of survey maps, plats, and reports.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of survey tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain equipment in good working condition.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
