What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Technician position at Gaylor Electric?
Scope of Work: The Survey Technician is responsible for accurately and timely performing electrical layout and as-built survey points in the field as directed.
Responsibilities:
Interpret engineered drawings.
Operate Topcon/GPS and Total Station data collectors with minimal supervision.
Collect as-built data.
Report to assigned job site locations punctually as directed.
Understand and comply with company and job safety requirements.
Work outdoors and on construction sites in all weather conditions.
Provide work control lines and elevations necessary for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by field staff.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High school graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent studies/experience.
Experience:
Minimum one year of land survey and/or construction experience preferred.
Proficiency in survey data collection, including setting up and operating GPS receivers and robotic total stations.
Demonstrated ability to read construction plans and specifications.
Experience with AutoCAD / Revit preferred.
Strong mathematical background and ability to perform calculations associated with surveying.
Strong administrative, computer (Word & Excel), and communication skills.
