This position is located in the Student Success Advisor (SSA) office on the lower level of Woodruff Hall. Students will greet people coming into the space, direct people to the appropriate offices, support staff members with projects, and help support students looking to fill out online forms, navigate the Portal for things like the add/drop form, assist students looking for materials or resources, and offer basic guidance in what an SSA can do for them. Customer service is key in this role and a person who is friendly and willing to jump in and help anyone. Good GPA. Customer service experience. Ability to successfully navigate the VSC Portal and Canvas. Attention to details. Willingness to work during the busy times including mornings and lunch.
Essential Duties:
• Connect students to other departments or resources as necessary (ie: Career Development, Academic Support, Student Financial Support Services, Wellness & Counseling, Residential Life, International Student Support, etc.)
• Work closely with the Student Support Advisors to provide assistance in projects
• Assist students with general Portal, Canvas, and exploration platforms
• Demonstrate inclusivity and provide excellent customer service in all modalities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, accountable and follows-through, attention to detail
• Proficiency in technologies such as Self-Service, Canvas, Microsoft products, etc.
• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals within the University and capacity to work as part of a team to collaborate
• Ability to work during busy office hour times and some off-hour events
