- Company is seeking a heavy civil estimator in the western Pennsylvania region to support our Heavy/Industrial Operations.
- In this role, you will assist in the development of competitive proposals based on accurate cost estimates including general conditions, self-performed work, and subcontracted work.
- The successful candidate will be able to quantify scopes of work, assisting in the development of General Conditions, and communicate effectively to gain a working understanding of RFPs, drawings, specifications, and RFIs.

- Assist in the development of cost estimates, ensuring accuracy in general conditions, self-performed work, and subcontracted work.
- Interpret and analyze RFPs, drawings, specifications, and RFIs to develop competitive bids.
- Perform earthwork take-offs and quantity surveys using industry software.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure cost-effective project execution.
- Utilize construction estimating software such as Carlson, HCSS, and Bluebeam for take-offs and bid development.
- Maintain accurate records of bidding processes, cost data, and historical pricing to support future estimates.
- Support on-site project teams by providing cost analysis and estimation insights.
- Adapt to travel or temporary relocation as needed based on project demands.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (OR a technical degree with 5 years of field and estimating experience).
- Proven experience as a Heavy Civil Estimator, with expertise in earthwork take-offs and self-perform estimating.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Experience with construction software such as Carlson, HCSS, and Bluebeam (preferred).
- Strong cost management, bid preparation, and construction estimating skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to travel and temporarily relocate based on project needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Experience with bid management, take-offs, and cost control processes.
- Understanding of civil engineering principles related to heavy civil construction.
- Familiarity with RFI processes, subcontractor coordination, and contract negotiation.
