Heavy Equipment Operator

Wadel Stabilization Inc, is a family owned and operated road construction contractor located in Hart, MI that operates in all areas of Michigan.

We are looking to hire a Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team! This position is responsible for the use and operation of heavy construction equipment which could include a backhoe, front end loader, dozer, excavator, grader, dump truck, etc. in a safe and efficient manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate a variety of heavy machinery, including but not limited to excavator, dozer, skid steer, loader, roller, etc.
• Daily pre and post inspection of heavy machinery to ensure safe operation and that everything is working properly.
• Responsible for daily maintenance of machinery, including but not limited to fueling, greasing, cleaning, etc.
• Partner with crew members and foreman to ensure daily schedules/estimates are met.
• Able to read and understand grade stakes, automated machine control cab displays, etc.
• Depending on assignment, able to safely maneuver machinery in tight quarters, around people, traffic and utilities.
• Responsible for completing job paperwork daily and submitting to Office in a timely manner.
• Other construction related duties as required to meet the needs of the company.

Qualifications/Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Reliable and punctual attendance
• Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons
• Be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment

• Ability to work extended work hours, nights and weekends as needed though the peak season
• Overnight travel is required
• Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination.
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 75 pounds).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
