MIGRANT SUMMER SCHOOL 2025
Position Title: Migrant Summer School Coordinator - 1 Position Available
The 2025 Wahluke Migrant Summer School Model is to provide in-person instruction to qualifying Kinder-4th grade students in reading, mathematics and STEM. Paraeducators would provide instructional and support tasks related to the students’ summer education.
Migrant Summer Program Information:
Professional Develop: June 18, 2025
Class Schedule: June 23-July 24, 2025
Hours of Operation: 8:30 am - 2:15pm Monday-Thursday
- Additional hours prior to the start of summer school.
Coordinator will assume Summer School development responsibilities immediately. If coordinator is selected from Wahluke internal candidates the expectation is that the program developmental/organizational functions will occur as supplemental to current school year job assignment and the coordinator will attend scheduled summer school days.
The coordinator will:
- Be responsible for the overall effectiveness of the summer school programs.
- Provide instructional leadership to maximize student learning.
- Collect, analyze, and utilize objective data regarding teaching effectiveness to maintain and improve the quality of instruction.
- Collaborate with Migrant Student Advocate and other support personnel.
- Develop and maintain positive rapport with students, staff, parents, and the community to build a structure of relationships so that all children have an equitable opportunity to learn.
- Work with the Migrant director on overall development of the summer school plan and implement the plan, maintain grant requirements, and evaluate the program.
- Work with the Migrant director on development of academic services and implementation and overall coordination of departmental/program services and logistics such as transportation, food service and technology needs.
- Supervise staff.
- Provide accurate records and reports as required by law and district operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Washington Administrative Certificate preferred.
- Experience, training at Elementary level preferred.
- Masters degree in Educational Administration preferred or related field.
- Demonstrated capacity for collaboration, cooperation and coordination with colleagues.
- Proven capability of high level organizational skills.
- Successful experience in program development and implementation.
- Applicable knowledge of Summer School program and funding/grant requirements.
- Must have understanding and knowledge of the characteristics of a rural, growing, diverse educational program.
- Ability to work with a significant multicultural population required.
- Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills, evidence as an instructional leader.
- Available to work summer school scheduled days.
- Bilingual Spanish helpful.
- Proven background of effective communication and interpersonal skills.
