Purchasing Agent

Job Summary:

Supports delivery of patient care by purchasing and maintaining an optimum inventory level of supplies.

Education Degree/Diploma:

High School Diploma or GED General Studies Required Certifications

Experience Required/Preferred:

2 Purchasing of pharmaceuticals and supplies

Required Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of computer systems required.

Job Specific Duties:

• Order Supply Tasks Manages the purchasing/receiving of drug/supply orders from the wholesaler/suppliers;

• Manages the computer system set up with the wholesaler Discrepancy Control Resolves purchase orders problems and billing errors when they occur Billing Responsibilities Manages the transfer expenses/billing.

Price Accuracy-Maintains accurate prices in applicable computer system

• Invoice Tasks Accurately posts invoices within 5 days of receipt Professionalism Upholds a professional working relationship at all times and adheres to department rules.

• Practices teamwork and adheres to Standards of Behavior.
