WALLINGFORD FAMILY YMCA JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Child Watch Associate Status: Part-Time
Reports to: Member Services Coordinator Department: Membership
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the Member Services Coordinator, this associate is required to maintain a fun and safe environment for the children engaged in the child watch program.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be 16 years of age.

Must have the ability and desire to work with infants, toddlers and children.

Must have experience with infants, toddlers, and children (ages 6 weeks to age 10).

Must have the ability to lift 40 pounds.

CPR/AED First Aid certification having the classroom portion of the skills assessment is required within 90 days of hire.

Additional training must be completed as required by the State and/or Federal Government, and by the YMCA. This training includes, but is not limited to, sexual harassment and child abuse prevention.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Arrive at work on time and maintain an accurate time sheet.

Maintain a consistent attendance record.

Notify the supervisor if it is necessary to be absent from scheduled hours and which staff will be covering shift.

Interact in a positive manner with children.
-
Keep all participants involved and engaged in fun activities.
-
Maintain positive and appropriate discipline.
-
Maintain a safe child/adult ratio in the child watch room within center guidelines.

Attend mandatory meetings and trainings.

Assist in maintenance of a clean facility per guidelines.
