What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant to the Controller position at Walnut Street Theatre?
Key responsibilities include:
- Process weekly payroll, employee benefits, workers compensation & unemployment claims
- Ensure accurate payroll recordkeeping by carrying out regular system updates for status changes, benefits deductions and tax withholdings
- Assist with accounts payable processing, ensuring that invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with the theatre’s policies and procedures
- Reconcile credit card statements against receipts submitted by cardholders on a monthly basis
- Maintain the integrity of the office filing system, including, but not limited to invoices, personnel files, contracts and permanent files.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years payroll / accounts payable experience a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and produce high quality results
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Ability to work comfortably in a team environment
Compensation:
Salary of $50,000, plus excellent fully paid company benefits.
