Position Summary:
WGI is seeking an Information Technology Support Specialist to assist in the first line of defense against technical issues and ensuring current technology supports rather than hinders organizational performance. The position also plays a vital role in ensuring an organization’s technology infrastructure runs smoothly.
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provides technical assistance help users, either face-to-face or telecommunications, to resolve hardware and software issues, ensuring computers, networks, and applications function properly.
- Minimizes downtime and keeps business operations running efficiently. Sets up new user accounts, profiles, and resolves password issues.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and problem resolution, ensuring that all technological components are optimized and functioning correctly contributing to a seamless work environment, including monitors and maintains company computer systems and networks.
- Diagnoses technical problems, from system errors to connectivity issues, and implement solutions or escalate more complex problems to specialized teams. Conducts electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
- Maintaining IT Systems by performing regular maintenance of computer systems, networks, and peripherals including installing updates, install and configuring operating systems and applications, and ensuring security protocols are followed to protect against cyber threats. Assists in rolling out new and/or updated applications.
- Provides guidance and training to employees, ensuring users are familiar with technology tools and best practices.
- Assists ISSO in security awareness training, in safeguarding classified information, if necessary, as well as for protecting unclassified export-controlled information relating to your classified contracts.
- Assists in reporting cyber-attacks, phishing, or other cyber-threat attempts, assists in local security vulnerability/compliance assessments, patch management, and self and assessor inspections for the Fayetteville location.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- The knowledge to develop procedural documentation and relevant reports, follows diagrams, and written instructions to repair a faulty system or network device and set up a computer system. Also, maintains documentation and continuity books on networks and equipment maintains inventory control of corporate IT/IS assets.
- Who enjoys learning and be teachable in current and new technologies.
- Works continuously on a task until completion.
- Multitasker that can prioritizes and manage many open cases at one time.
- Can establish a good working relationship with employees, customers and other professionals, along with testing and evaluating new technology.
- Must have and maintain a minimum DoD IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security CE). In possession of a valid CompTIA Network CE and/or CompTIA A CE certifications are a plus.
- Must be able to obtain and hold at United States Government Secret clearance.
