What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Architect, Project Hire position at Walt Disney Imagineering?
Are you interested in learning more about our Landscape Architecture team? We are responsible for landscape architecture including hardscape, grading, planting, irrigation, water and other specialty features; special studies; and the integration of architecture, civil engineering, structural elements, lighting, graphics and utilities for the area development of an individual facility/attraction, land, or theme park project!
You will report to the Landscape Architecture Studio Executive.
This is a 30 month Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.
You Will
- Prepare Area Development base information documentation (e.g. site analysis, site planning)
- Provide design documentation in the form of graphic illustration, imagery boards, color renderings, and research and documentation on assigned projects
- Perform various basic technical tasks and documentation, including base sheets, construction details, preliminary grading, hardscape plans/sections/elevations, planting design drafting, 3D visualization, and general project coordination
- Develop varied landscape architectural project work at all stages of assigned projects from concept, feasibility or schematic design through the preparation of construction documentation
- Ensure that the area development intent is achieved by successfully integrating landscape design with allied fields and components such as: infrastructure, architecture, grading/drainage, lighting, graphics, structural engineering, irrigation, etc
- Prepare specific work including, but not limited to: base sheets, hardscape, planting designs, visual intrusion studies, material schedules, etc; ensures alignment to department/divisional Standards of Practice
You Will Have
- U.S. Professional License credential
- Two or more years of experience in landscape architecture/design practice
- Working knowledge and experience in the use of plant and hardscape materials and products for thematic applications
- Demonstrated thoughtful design, artistic skills and professional judgment in solving complex area development problems
- Skills in digital documentation/illustration tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; Working knowledge/skills in AutoCAD and 3D software tools: AutoCAD 3D, Rhino, Twinmotion, Lumion.
- Membership in one or more professional organizations such as American Society of Landscape Architects, Urban Land Institute, Construction Specifications Institute, U.S. Green Building Council, International Society of Arboriculture, or Green Roof Association is preferred
Required Education
- BLA/BSLA degree from an accredited program
Preferred Education
- Advanced degree in landscape architecture, horticulture or land planning

Job Posting Statement The hiring range for this position in California is $84,500.00-$113,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
Salary : $84,500 - $113,300
