Job Summary: The Staff Accountant processes and maintains day-to-day activities for the accounting department of the corporate office of The Cherry Cove Group. As needed, may be required to travel to locally for business-related errands. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 to 4:30
Essential Functions:
- Aligns with and ensures full compliance to policies, procedures and standards of the Cherry Cove Group, hotel brand and franchise
- Perform general account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, and prepaid expenses
- Prepares general ledger entries
- Maintains records and files
- Prepares consolidated financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and various departments
- Prepares bi-weekly accounts payable check runs by inputting invoices and preparing check run report
- Accurately prepares bi-weekly payroll journal entries, account reconciliations, and funding
- Researches, analyzes and interprets data for purposes of responding to questions, verifying of information, developing reports and auditing projects
- Supports Department Supervisor with the day-to-day operations including monthly reporting, budget review and analysis
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to provide professional customer service
- Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized work environment
- Ability to manage time efficiently and exercise good judgement
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel application
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and SFAS Rules
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand information in English
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Valid State Issued Driver’s License and operational personal vehicle
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Math, preferred
- 5 or more years of accounting experience required
- 3 years of payroll experience required
- Accounting experience in real estate and/or hospitality preferred
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift and carry 30lbs
- This position is an in-office position. Use of safe workplace practices is required
Salary : $58,000 - $65,000
