Job Summary
Warm Beach Senior Community is a non-profit ministry of the Free Methodist Church with 57 years of service to the elderly and the community. We are looking for a Part-time Director of Advancement to join our team!
Warm Beach Senior Community (WBSC) is a ministry of the Pacific Northwest Conference of the Free Methodist Church. This Director of Advancement should be comfortable with the organization’s statement of faith and supportive of the mission. Our mission is to demonstrate Christ’s love to senior citizens by providing quality housing and supportive services in serene, natural setting. We do this by preserving the dignity of residents, staff and volunteers; addressing physical, spiritual, social and emotional needs and fostering fullness of life and independence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary contact and communications link between donors and prospective donors, including individuals, businesses, charitable foundations and community leaders, with the objective of raising significant funds to support the ministry of WBSC.
- Provides donor information to the Executive Director when cultivation and communications are appropriate at that level.
- Organizes special events which cultivate, involve and thank donors.
- Manages the donor database and relevant software and works with the staff responsible for data entry and gift processing.
- Prepares an annual fund raising plan which spells out specific goals and actions that will be taken to achieve those goals.
- Reports monthly on the status of fund raising goals and other established measures of success.
- Coordinates the preparation of reports, as appropriate, to the WBSC Board of Directors, Pacific Northwest Conference of the Free Methodist Church, or other constituent groups.
- Communicates with organizations and leadership in the Stanwood-Camano region on the merits of WBSC and how it is serving the community. Seeks to find sources of support from the region.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of nonprofit development experience, focusing on major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and donor relations.
- Proven success in creating and implementing growth-oriented development plans.
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communicator, both written and oral
- Committed to long range career relationship
- Has strong computer and database skills (Salesforce)
- Pleasing personality/relational in support of building rapport with donors
- Experiences the joy of giving on a personal basis
- Comfortable with making the ask
- Possesses marketing skills
- Goal oriented
- Cultural fit with the Warm Beach Senior Community
- Openly accountable
- Detail oriented
- Comfortable and competent in reporting to the Board
- Part time up to 28 hours a week, flexible hours
