Waste Management Technician/Mover – Full Time

The purpose of this position is to implement facility maintenance policies and procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet resident’s needs and to provide functional, sanitary, safe, and comfortable environment, in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for collection, transport, storage and disposal of waste. Management of waste turn-in.
• Facility container inspections.
• Operate waste collection vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of waste collected and disposed.
• Familiarity with recycling and waste separation techniques.
• Lift and move furniture and items to transport from our campus to off-site location.
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum one year maintenance work experience, preferable in a health care setting
• High school diploma or GED equivalency
• Valid Virginia Driver's License in good standing.
• Working knowledge of some maintenance equipment and activities.
• Previous experience in a position that involved interacting with the public, like food service, retail work, etc.
  
  

Preferences

• Mechanical skills for equipment maintenance.
• Preference given for experience in property or health care facility maintenance.
  
  

Machines, Tools, Equipment And Work Aids

• Mechanical tools, plumbing tools, telephone, miscellaneous maintenance and cleaning equipment and supplies.
  
  

Physical Demands And Working Conditions

• Essential functions of the job routinely require physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
• Talking and listening are essential in dealing with other personnel and residents.
• Work is mainly outdoors.
• Must be independent to commute between properties as well as available when needed.
  
  

Shifts/Hours/Schedules

• Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
• Seeking 1 person for this position.
• Expected hiring date is as soon as possible.

Compensation

The starting pay rate for this position is $18.00 per hour and may increase with years of experience and skill level and annual pay raises in January of each year thereafter.
