Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing student programming executed in residential halls; this includes overseeing building facilities and supervision of student resident assistants by establishing positive relationships across departments.
- Provide leadership and organization associated with managing residential halls and its residents.
- Manage conduct within area of oversight, including conduct meetings with students who violate policy and managing disciplinary records from an educational perspective.
- Advise and counsel students in areas of college life including academic success or personal support, in collaboration with faculty and student advisors, referring students to appropriate college resources/services.
- Support Residential Life department with shared leadership of projects during the academic year and summer initiatives.
- Research best practices in residential life activities fostering an inclusive community environment offering refreshing and innovative perspective to the programming efforts at Wartburg College.
- On campus live in position for the term of appointment
- Serve in emergency on call duty rotation along with other professional colleagues
- Participate in professional staff meetings, student staff meetings, meetings with supervisors, and ongoing professional development activities throughout the year.
- Assist with opening (move in) and closing (move out) and other department initiatives throughout the year.
- Requires a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
- Requires clear communication skills and desire to work with college-age students.
- Candidate must have excellent project management skills, including flexibility, problem solving and leadership development skills.
- Must be enrolled in the prescribed MA in Leadership courses each term.
- Must maintain an overall grade point average of 3.00 while in the GA program.
- Must meet the eligibility requirements for employment within the United States.
- Must successfully complete a background screening.
