What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology and Mathematics Curriculum Coordinator position at Warwick Public Schools?
WORK YEAR: 260 Days Per Year
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
This position will be responsible for the supervision, initiation, development and execution of services connected with the K-12 mathematics curriculum. The candidate should be able to support the coordination, implementation and maintenance of the school district’s instructional programs and compliance with assigned assessment requirements, specifically surrounding K-12 Math programs. There will be a deep focus on mathematics in this position.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR MAKING APPLICATION:
Persons must hold a Bachelor’s, Masters’ degree preferred, from accredited colleges or universities. Persons must hold a teacher’s certificate issued by the Rhode Island State Department of Education, and an education administration certificate issued by the Rhode Island State Department of Education is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must demonstrate a familiarity and strong understanding of CCSS in mathematics and science, assessment, and the area of technology applications. Candidate must have a strong background in technology including - but not limited to - applicable hardware and software necessary to support current teaching and learning. Candidate must demonstrate ability to use technology to support instruction, curriculum, assessment, and data analysis. Candidate must be able to work
collaboratively and generate support for initiatives. Among the qualifications to be considered are: previous experiences in and outside the field of education, solid communication skills and ability to articulate issues/concerns, and personality
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research trends in instructional methods and educational technology
- Oversee the application of all educational technology used to support instruction, curriculum and assessment
- Analyze student test data
- Assess and discuss curriculum standards
- Plan, organize and conduct professional learning in technology applications including those related to instruction, curriculum and assessment
- Support the communication from the Curriculum Department, including updating the district website
- Review and recommend educational materials, particularly in the area of technology and mathematics
- Develop procedures for teachers to implement curriculum in mathematics
- Mentor or coach teachers and principals in implementing new curriculum in mathematics
- Plan, organize and conduct professional learning in technology applications including those related to instruction, curriculum and assessment in mathematics
- Prepare the annual budget and report with the help of the Curriculum Director
- Support the Computer Science initiative K-12 and other related tech programs across the district, K-12
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum or his/her designee
