About Us:
We are a leading mental health office in Bowie, MD, dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to our patients. We are currently seeking an experienced and personable Medical Billing Auditor/Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hybrid billing assistance at our mental health office in Bowie, MD
- A minimum of one year of experience is required in processing payments, managing insurance claims, verifying CPT codes, and handling prior authorizations.
- Schedule appointments, fax documents, and handle incoming calls from patients.
- Request and manage medical records as needed.
- Address claim denials and rejections in a timely manner. Understand EOBs.
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries and concerns, ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Bonus: 1 year(s) of front desk appointment scheduling experience at a mental health counseling/therapy clinic (bonus points for mental health clinic experience).
Requirements:
- Must have previous billing experience in a medical office setting. (Required)
- Proficiency with Gmail and experience sorting data in Excel/Google Sheets spreadsheets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and professional emails.
- Energetic, friendly, empathetic, attentive, computer-savvy, and highly organized.
The candidate must be a quick learner and able to perform most functions with personal initiative. This is a hybrid part-time position.
Must also be knowledgeable about HIPAA regulations.
